Silicon bricks refer to refractory products with SiO2 content of more than 93%. Keride kiln silica brick is made of silica with SiO2 content of not less than 96% as raw material, adding mineralizing agent (such as iron scale, lime milk) and bonding agent (such as sulfite pulp waste liquid), through mixing, forming, drying, burning and other processes. The higher the SiO2 content in the silica raw material, the higher the refractoriness of the product. Impurities such as K2O.Na2O are harmful and will seriously reduce the refractoriness of refractory products. Fe2O3, CaO, MgO and other impurities play the role of flux. The raw materials of high-grade silicon bricks need special treatment to remove impurities.

Silicon brick is an acid refractory material, has a strong resistance to acid slag or acid melt erosion ability, but the resistance to alkaline substance erosion is poor, easy to be destroyed by Al2O3, K2O, Na2O and other oxides, CaO, FeO, Fe2O3 and other oxides have good resistance.
